The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner – Samuel Taylor Coleridge

The Rime of the Ancient MarinerThe Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an utterly, utterly fantastic edition. Not only do you get the best poem ever written about zombies and cursed sailors but there’s also beautiful illustrations by Gustave Doré which really capture the darkness and despair of the cursed ocean.

As if that wasn’t enough there’s also wonderful works like Kubla Khan, An Ode To The Rain and, one of my favourites, Work Without Hope.

To think I found this in a charity shop at a ridiculously low price in perfect condition makes me feel really lucky. Such a tragedy that Coleridge gave up poetry for other works.
