I received a free kindle edition of the book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a story that starts with a bizarre death and leads on to a very unlikely bank robbery and the heroines attempt to evade capture by a bungling old-school copper.
The characters are exaggerated, caricatures that are nonetheless so true in aspects that you’ll feel like you already know them – there’s always an Ethel living to a hundred years old while smoking and drinking her way through life in the family!
Nivens writing is clever, sharply observed, frenetic, touching at times and often vulgar – you will not make it through this book without driving those around you crazy with your snorts and chuckles. Ethel and Boscombe are both hilarious!
